YOUTH
The EPT youth.  Yep, it’s been 3 years and we still don’t have a name.  That’s about as good as it gets.  But seriously, I don’t think having a name or not having a name has had any effect on how we function as a group.  Over the past couple of years, our group has grown, not so much in numbers but in relationship.  We have become a very close knit group and I think it’s pretty obvious.  Ask anyone driving through town on any given day and they could tell you about a large group of teenagers walking from one side of town to the other on a regular basis…that’s us.  We do a lot of things together: we eat together, watch movies together, battle boredom together and obviously go to church together too.  Actually, this past year, we all ended up going to school together too.  I think I see these people more than my own family.  Anyway, I think you’ve got the idea that we’re pretty tight.

So lately, God’s really started working in our church and in our youth group.  Just a couple weekends ago, a few of us had a really good bible study/discussion/prayer time where God really moved.  It’s really awesome to have the opportunity to talk about God with the people around you and find that they are experiencing some of the same things.  It’s really neat to be excited about God with other people.  It’s also really neat to pray for what feels like 10 or 15 minutes only to find out later that you’ve been caught up in the presence of God for over an hour.  God’s really starting to move and it’s pretty exciting.  I’m looking forward to what He has in store for our group.

ANNUAL EVENTS:

Genesis: This is a annual conference held just outside of Windsor , Ontario .  It is a powerful, life changing weekend that compels youth to consider where they are in their walk with God compared to where they’d like to be.  It encourages them to stand up for their faith and to live righteously to make a difference in their world.  There is excitement and freedom during worship as well as intimate times with God.  This conference is free of charge and generous families from the church graciously open their homes to those far from home.  It is held at the end of March Break.

Fresh Wind: This is an exhilarating conference held at the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship.  With live, loud and thrilling worship, funny and impacting speakers and workshops full of useful information and training, this conference is sure to make a lasting impression on the lives of young people who attend.  It is held every Easter weekend, starting the Thursday immediately before Good Friday and ending Saturday night. The cost altogether is approximately $125 (which includes hotel, registration, and transportation.)
